GOALS
-Eliminate the disloyal; Her biggest pet peeve is people who fight against the law, which has protected them for centuries. Their elimination would mean that the law would be able to function as it should, as well as successfully avenge the lives that were lost in the fight against the pirates.
-Find love; Natalia wants to find someone who would love her and be with her for the rest of her life, though she hopes to put her duty as a Navy captain first in her life.
-Bring honor to the Aura; The reason she was chosen to be captain of the Aura was so that she could reverse the poor reputation that it had earned over the years.
QUIRKS/ODDITIES/HABITS
-She wears either a blue or white bow in her hair. It keeps her hair out of her face.
-The Belarusian owns at least one item that reminds her of just about everyone she knows. The reason for this is because if she ever catches them getting too close to her beloved, she has a target she can use for practice during her free time.
-Natalia is good at hiding herself in small places for long periods of time.
-She never leaves her cabin, nor lets anyone enter it unless she has at least one of her daggers on her person.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION No matter what you may or may not think about her, she will deny being obsessed with order.
OVERALL PERSONALITY Natalia Arlovskaya is as cold-hearted as she is beautiful. Rarely does the Belarusian smile. She believes that since her beloved is the only truly beautiful thing in the world, she should only smile for said person. To her, the world is evil and corrupt, filled with things and people that only exist to bring sorrow upon her and her supposedly happy future with her true love. As a result of these beliefs, she has convinced herself that the best face to make in public is a scowl.
Natalia is quick tempered, and is quick to be angered, especially when it comes to her beloved. She is anti-social for the most part, but when she does speak to others, she only spits insults and threats. When her love is around however, she will change her manner of speaking to a somewhat more polite form of communication. That is, until she brings up the topic of marriage. Once she gets on that topic, she becomes extremely threatening and persistent, going as far as to claw through doors and break windows in order to convince the object of her affection to marry her.
Not long after Natalia decided she was in love, she turned from a once sweet girl to a violent and destructive storm that never goes away. She uses physical pain and torture in order to get what she wants, no matter how the results will affect those around her. Violence is also a mean of anxiety release for the Belarusian female. She also tends to be very stubborn, and only changes her opinion if her beloved Ivan views a situation differently than she does. This causes the blond to have a difficult time communicating with those around her.
Natalia tends to use logical thinking when it’s not involving love. She is quick to point out flaws in other’s ideas and practices, while using reverse psychology to hide her flaws and support her ideology and practices.
Natalia has the ability to get along with others when things are currently working in her favor. In fact, when she is not trying to cause someone’s pain or death, she can be almost mildly pleasant. However, she refuses to let anyone control her or run her life in her stead.
Due to Natalia’s obsession with her future spouse and her constant acts of violence and mistrust, she is extremely paranoid. She worries about losing special things in her life (i.e. the one she loves, her freedom, her crew and ship), especially when things do not go according to her plans.
Natalia is extremely dedicated to anyone she loves. She has no problem breaking a few rules and putting herself in harm’s way if those she is dedicated to ask her to do so. Though some view her acts of dedication as recklessness, they are simply the purest way the Belarusian can show how strongly she loves.
BACKSTORY/HISTORY Growing up, Natalia’s mind was filled with ideas of loyalty and power. Her father was the captain of the Aura, while her mother was the daughter of another Navy captain, which rooted Natalia deeply into the ideology that the Navy supported, as well as hatred against pirates. The blond female grew up with a well rounded education that was expected to be given to children of noble stature. From politics to music to what parts of history her parents deemed necessary for a growing young lady to know, Natalia was a happy child who loved her family very dearly. That is, until she met her first true love. After that, her life took a drastic change, though whether it was for better or worse depended on who was deciding.
Natalia's love for this person was incomprehensible to those around her; many thought that her feelings for her "beloved" were uncalled for and potentially illegal, while others thought her approaches to gaining her love were a bit too "extreme". However, the blond female ignored what others thought about her "unique" tactics. Sure, stalking the object of her affection and potentially harming those who were closer to said person than she herself was would be considered by many to be out of the ordinary and even over the top, yet the young girl did not care; she just wanted her love to be accepted. Natalia's once kind personality became corrupted and cruel, and was replaced by violence, anger and hatred. She no longer felt any sense of humanity. All she cared about was winning her beloved's heart. But no matter what she tried, she was answered with fear and rejection time and time again. Yet she continued to make advances on her love in hopes that they would change their mind one day.
The hardening of Natalia's heart lead her to become more strict on herself and those around her, scolding her tutor for "slacking on her teaching duties and failing to provide her pupil with more rigorous work", as well as her parents for not encouraging her to take on more work to better her skills. She wanted to show the world that she was no longer the carefree little girl she once was; she was now a strong, independent woman capable of caring for herself and others around her. Her parents, pleased by this change in their daughter, worked hard to recommend Natalia into the Navy, where her loyalty and diligence would help her immensely. Once accepted, she quickly worked her way to the top, having gained a reputation for being a strict, hardworking shipmate. It was these qualities that sent her to become captain the Aura, a ship that had gain a reputation for having one of the laziest crews in the seven seas. The Navy hoped that under her command, she would be able to change the reputation of the Aura from negative to positive. Though Natalia struggles with the lack of overall willpower of her crew, she is determined to change them and defeat their adversaries.
The amount of energy Yong-Soo seemed to contain was incredible. Why would someone, especially in our field, get so excited over the idea of a friend? The question replayed in her mind as his happiness seemed to clog the air surrounding them. Her stomach churned. I hope I can keep this act up, she thought.
But apparently, the sickening feeling she currently had was not as well hidden as she would have liked it to be, for Yong-Soo apparently noticed. She was about to scold herself for having such weak defenses when she heard something that piqued her interests.
“...kind of look like how Ivan did when we met in the science class! Speaking of Ivan, you two look similar, are you two related, that’d be totally cool if you were, da-ze~!”
“You know my cousin?” Surprise was written all over her face. This man knew her most beloved cousin and future husband Ivan. Suddenly, she herself could not contain her excitement. Did he ever talk about her to others? Did he ever tell anyone about the fact that he was practically engaged to the Belarusian? Or did he deny that there was anything between them. There were so many questions she wanted to ask Yong-Soo, but unfortunately, he changed the subject before she could even get a sound out of her mouth.
“Hey, look at that! It’s the moon, da-ze~! Did you know that the sun and moon were actually two little kids? Of course, they were Korean kids, the very best, da-ze~! Do you want to hear the story that my foster-mom told me?”
The moon? Natalia turned around to see that the moon was already out. She had failed to notice how quickly the time had passed while she was out there. She really did not want to hear anything about the Korean sun and moon. Why was everything he talked about Korean? But she knew that she would need to act interested in what Yong-Soo was interested in if she wanted to keep him as a ‘friend’. “Sounds interesting,” she said, trying to hide her disinterest. “What was the story about?”
